Bike Week 2003
This year National Bike Week will run from 14th to 22nd June. Birmingham Friends of the Earth will be promoting cycling to work as part of the weeks events. We are appealing for people who regularly commute by bike and would be prepared to buddy a less experienced cyclist for one or more days during that week.
For information about events in the local area have a look at www.bikeweek.org.uk. Pushbikes are also organising rides throughout the week. Give them a call on 0121 632 6753 or email push.bikes@virgin.net for more information.
Youll need to be reasonably experienced and confident, and demonstrate SAFE city cycling - even if youre racing the traffic every other day youll need to be aware that a less experienced cyclist might come a cropper if they copy your normal style! If you think you might be able to help, or indeed if you or someone you know would like a buddy, please let us know.
Also any companies or other organisations out there who could promote this to employees, please get in touch and we can send you posters and flyers.
