Last Monday I had another meeting with the Birmingham Pound team. We considered the next steps to take to set up our own independent currency. This way I can brainstorm with the Birmingham FoE campaigners about our role in the public engagement at the Away Day this Saturday. At the Away Day we will plan much of our campaigning for the next year.
At this moment it is very important that we get people enthusiastic about the idea of a local currency. We need to get people exited about a Pound that works for Birmingham and boosts local, Birmingham bussiness.
We also need to know whether people are thinking of using the Birmingham Pound when it is set up. Where would they like to use it, for their morning coffee run, in their local library, to pay their council tax? Would they prefer to pay in cash, with a card, or via text? These are all very important to get to know.
So if you are curious about the Birmingham Pound and wish to keep in contact, sign up to the newsletter. You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter.
