Green-minded Birmingham residents are opening their homes to the general public this weekend, as part of the Birmingham Green Open Homes. This aims to showcase a variety of energy-saving and energy-generating measures undertaken by several residents across the city.
Birmingham Friends of the Earth’s Waste Campaigner John Newson is one of several people opening their doors to show what he’s been doing to make his home more energy efficient. The opening times vary from home to home, but are generally between 11:30 and 17:30.
You can book in advance for each home visit, as well as finding a little bit more about each home that’s opening its doors using this link. For more details about the day and the importance of energy efficiency check out John Newson’s article on Slaney Street
