The 1st April marks 40 years of Birmingham Friends of the Earth’s campaigning and we are planning to celebrate with a party on Sunday 2nd April 2017. We would like invite everyone to help us celebrate.
We’ll be reflecting on our past campaigns, inspiring tenants and the contribution that our dedicated staff and volunteers have made over the years. There will be a lovely cold buffet of vegetarian and vegan food provided by The Warehouse Cafe and Brum Radio will be providing some musical entertainment.
We will be displaying photos, newsletters and campaigning materials from the last 40 years. If you have anything which we can borrow to put on our display we would be very grateful.
We really hope you can join us! If you think you will be able to make it please drop us a quick RSVP by email to birthday@thewarehouse.coop
We hope to see you there!

Definitely going to be there! I joined in 1981, been involved on and off ever since. The first piece of artwork I did (After fixing the flat roof over the meeting room, which lasted well!), was the cover for the “Waste Midlands” report, which led to the picric/pyrrhic (?) converter at Tyseley. It was a pale blue A5 booklet, with a council tipper and a fox or two, on a waste pile, against a background of the city, with the Rotunda and GPO tower, etc. If someone could dig out any copies, I’d love to have one or at least photo the cover for my art website. I was also the permanent resident artist for West Midlands CND, round about 1985-6, they still have a load of work filed away somewhere.
