Warehouse Cafe

The Warehouse houses the appropriately named Warehouse cafe. Located in the Birmingham Friends of the Earth building, The Warehouse Cafe offers fresh, organic vegetarian and vegan dishes at affordable prices. Using organic ingredients, solar power and recycled materials, the restaurant has excellent ethical credentials. With a tempting set menu, light meals and regularly changing specials, The Warehouse Cafe offers a wide range of dishes to satisfy any appetite.

 

Mint Restaurant

Continuing the foodie theme, we’re starting this section with a report on MINT restaurant in Yardley. Serving classic Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine, it’s one of few places to offer a full gluten free range. MINT have reduced their waste bill by more than fifty percent through recycling metal cans. Cardboard recycling is shared with a neighbour.  Using local suppliers for their meat, vegetables and drinks cuts down on food miles and saves on delivery charges. Looking ahead, they are exploring the practicalities of having a wormery or compost bin, the possibility of sourcing from local farms and have begun growing their own herbs.
