Schools and youth centres

We have long provided talks for school assemblies and workshops for classes from year 3 up to sixth form students and even adult education courses.

The topic of the talks is negotiable in advance, but in the past we have done sessions on everything from general sustainability or the environmental effects of food to aviation and the arguments against the runway extension at Birmingham Airport.

Our educational arm is a registered charity and donations are welcomed in return for the time we give to do such talks.

We are always looking for new opportunities to talk to young people about the environment and engage them with living a more sustainable lifestyle, so if you’d like someone from Birmingham Friends of the Earth to come along and do a talk, a workshop or help out on a special day, please get in touch with us.

Community groups

As well as providing schools with talks and workshops about what we do, we also like to reach out to local groups in the community.

We can provide your group with talks, presentations and workshops on a variety of different subjects, again the topic is negotiable in advance.

We love the chance to spread the word on important issues and ways in which everyone can get involved and are always looking for new opportunities to talk to local groups in the community.

If you are interested in having someone from Birmingham Friends of the Earth to present a talk or workshop to your group or would like to find out more about us, please get in touch.
