I taught Economics, Business Studies and History in Birmingham schools in Winson Green, Sparkbook, Edgbaston and Sutton Coldfield and worked as political campaigner and election organiser. I have a long involvement with the Co-operative movement and was a Regional Board member of the Midland Co-operative (now Central England) Society. I am is a Trustee of the Handsworth Charity.
