Following the petition to Birmingham Council meeting on 1 December 2020, we have produced a Briefing to put the case for why mass incineration of waste is not the future for Birmingham.  We say that there is a tremendous opportunity in 2021 to rethink and redesign the city council’s waste system, both disposal and collection, towards reusing, recycling or composting council collected waste, making the Tyseley incinerator unnecessary. As the largest single source of carbon dioxide emissions in the city, the Climate Emergency requires a plan to run down and close it.  See Briefing
