VOLUNTEER ROLE: Fundraising Ambassador for Northfield Ecocentre
Commitment: 3 – 4 hours per month or more, depending on your availability
JOB DESCRIPTION and MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Ecocentre is expanding and our need for resources is growing as we take on more projects. We are looking for outgoing, enthusiastic people with a passion for the environment to help us raise funds to support our work. This is a crucial role that underpins all of the other work we do. No experience is necessary and full support is provided. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in fundraising or the charity sector, or someone looking to really make a difference in their community. Responsibilites are flexible – you can choose which methods you want to focus on to raise money, and we would welcome your own ideas too.
Main responsibilities
- Organize events to raise funds for the Ecocentre
- Put collecting tins in public places for the Ecocentre and manage the collections
- Give talks on behalf of the Ecocentre (to eg. Schools, work places, religious groups, community groups, rotary clubs, round tables, soroptomists etc.
- Run fundraising stalls for the Ecocentre (eg at local events, farmers’ markets etc)
Skills required
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Outgoing and sociable
- Good organisation skills
- Enthusiasm
