Birmingham Friends of the Earth are on a mission, again! Building on the success of our first, very successful, comedy gig, we’re searching for a collection of passionate comedians to perform at our 2nd fundraising comedy gig this autumn.

Last year, we invited eight comedians and almost two hundred of our friends to the Glee Club for our first gig, ‘There’s Something Funny in the Honey‘ , threw in some bad puns of our own and even a few fetching bee costumes, and out came a fantastic pot of money for the Bee Cause, helping to save our bees.

We want to repeat our success, but this year we’re aiming to run a gig that’s bigger and better. More laughs, more money raised, more difference made! This time around we’re raising money for community cycling projects that will encourage more people to get on their bikes.  This is a major event of the campaign, Let’s Get Moving, aimed at measures which will help reduce the high levels of air pollution in Birmingham.

The gig, Pedalling for Laughs! will be held at the award-winning Glee Club again (so, the technical side is professionally taken care of),  on Wednesday, 20th November 2013.  We’re working on a crowd pulling line up and already have the support of faboulously funny, local comedians: Barbara Nice, James Cook and Stella Graham.

It’s a great opportunity to give uniquely valuable support to make Birmingham a better place and perform in the city’s largest comedy venue to an audience of hundreds. Come and join the line-up –  contact:
