
"I very much back this campaign", said Mr Godsiff. "Renewable energy is the way for the future and we all have to recognise that we live in a world of shrinking finite resources and the sooner we move towards renewable means of energy the better."
The meeting followed a massive show of public support on 25th October. Campaigners took to the streets of Birmingham's city centre asking shoppers to sign postcards calling on the government to stick to its commitment on renewable energy. Armed with costumes and props representing wind, wave and solar power the campaigners collected more than 150 signatures in just a few hours.
