We have been working hard to ensure that the government’s Energy Bill delivers real improvements to people whose lives are blighted by fuel poverty and cold homes this year.
It is now at a crucial stage and Friends of the Earth are asking people to sign this petition for local carbon cuts as the Energy Bill approaches its climax.
The Government says it wants to help councils cut carbon locally.
But it doesn’t seem to want to do it now.
The Energy Bill is meant to drive energy efficiency nationwide – but might leave out council action.
The petition will go to Energy Minister Greg Barker – calling on the Government not to miss this crucial opportunity to green our villages, towns and cities.
