Saturday 30th January will be a chance for community groups from all over Birmingham to get together and talk about making their streets and communities safer.
There has been considerable interest from neighbourhood forums and other groups all over the city in the 20's plenty campaign and the issue of getting people used to walking and cycling short distances into their community centres rather than taking the car. The reductions in road collisions where this has been introduced, especially with the most vulnerable members of society, are very impressive, with great savings in terms of lives lost and medical expenses as well as increased cycling and better community feeling.

This event will feature a presentation on the aims of the campaign and the benefits of 20 mph default speed limits on residential roads and then a chance for groups to talk together about their own experiences, ideas and ways of cooperating in future to make it a reality in Birmingham.
