Are you a health professional? Do you cycle to work, or would you like to but have never got around to it? If so we’d would love to hear from you!

Thursday 12th September is National Cycle to Work Day and Birmingham Friends of the Earth are looking for health professionals to get involved and commit to cycling to work for the day, in connection with our wider campaign Let’s Get Moving.

Let’s Get Moving aims to raise awareness and tackle the dangerous and illegal levels of air pollution in Birmingham and encourage more people to start using active modes of transport – cycling and walking.

Air pollution is incredibly dangerous to our health, estimated to be responsible for up to 50,000 premature deaths in the UK every year. By taking part health professionals can help take a small action to prevent the health effects of air pollution, alongside the fantastic work they already do in trying to cure them.

Birmingham Friends of the Earth would like to see that cycling is made accessible to every employee in Birmingham, making it easier for people to choose to cycle, reducing the amount of traffic on the roads, and the air pollution in our city.

If you are a health professional who would you like to take part in National Cycle to Work Day by cycling to work, and help raise awareness of these issues, then Birmingham Friends if the Earth would love to hear from you! If you are not a health professional but would like to organise a cycle to work day in your workplace then still get in touch.

Please contact campaigns@birminghamfoe.org.uk if you are interested in taking part, or would simply like more information!
